Chelsea midfielder Raul Meireles has claimed he is not as aggressive on the pitch as his demeanour and appearance may suggest.
The Portugal international cuts an intimidating figure in the middle of the park with his unmissable mohican haircut and heavily tattooed torso, to go with his tenacious attitude.
But Meireles feels he is misunderstood, and does not think he is anything like the archetypal English-style player, valuing commitment over craft.
"Maybe my style and how I look is a lot more aggressive than my personality," he told the official Chelsea magazine.
"I know people in England like players with a lot of aggression, but I don't think I'm that kind of player. I have a lot of other things that can hopefully help the team out."
Meanwhile, Chelsea forward Salomon Kalou has attempted to deflect suggestions he is keen to force a move away from Stamford Bridge in January.
The Ivory Coast international has been linked with a switch elsewhere - most notably to Marseille or Olympiakos.
"I have nothing to comment on the rumours," he told French radio station RMC.
"Olympiakos were interested but I'm not interested in Greece. I want to play more and more."
