Whites keen on red-hot German stopper - reports

Leeds United are keen to snap up Preston North-End goalkeeper Thorsten Stuckmann, according to The Sun.

The German stopper spent time on trial at Elland Road last season, however he was released without being offered a deal.

Stuckmann joined Preston earlier this season, and has helped turn their fortunes around, avenge conceded just four goals in six games, form that has attracted the attention of Leeds.

With Andy Lonergan currently out with a broken finger, Alex McCarthy and Maik Taylor have been brought in, but Leeds manager Simon Grayson wants to expand his options between the sticks.

Paul Rachubka's errors against Blackpool earlier in the season has seen him loaned out to Tranmere Rovers, leaving Leeds short in the role.
