Borussia Dortmund sensation Mario Gotze is reportedly top of Arsenal's January transfer wish list.
The German midfielder is regarded as one of the finest young talents currently operating in Europe and, thus, has been linked with a number of the continent's top clubs.
Arsenal are known to be admirers of Gotze, and Arsene Wenger is alleged to have made an attempt to bring the 19-year-old to the Emirates Stadium during the summer.
And now, according to The Mirror, the Gunners have identified Gotze as their No.1 target as Wenger continues to scour the market for potential reinforcements.
However, Arsenal are likely to struggle to compete with the financial clout of the likes of Real Madrid and Manchester City, should they decided to formalise their reported interest in Gotze.
The Gunners, meanwhile, are also said to be pursuing the Germany international's clubmate Kevin Grosskreutz, but the latter expects Gotze to honour his contract with Dortmund.
