Assistant manager Craig Shakespeare thinks that Aleksander Tunchev has a chance of replacing the suspended Matt Mills for Leicester against Peterborough on Saturday.

Tunchev has suffered a number of injuries during his time in England including a groin problem that forced him to return from an early season loan at Crystal Palace.

However he is now fully fit and will compete with Sean St. Ledger to join Sol Bamba at the heart of the Foxes defence for two matches after Mills' second red of the season.

Shakespeare said: "We are missing Matt now for a couple of games but that means there is an opportunity for someone else.

"Sean is a good replacement, but is not guaranteed a place. Tunchev is fit again and has trained for a week and played in a reserve game. That gives us a selection problem."

Nigel Pearson actually bought the Bulgarian international during his first spell in charge of the club, and Shakespeare thinks it is great to see him available again after a succession of issues with his fitness.

"I think you are thankful for someone as honest as him and it was good to see him go to Palace and get some games because players need to play and it gives him the platform to know his body could cope with playing Saturday, Tuesday, Saturday.

"He is a good professional, good to work with and he deserves it."
