Luiz offered Stamford Bridge exit

David Luiz will reportedly be offered a route out of Chelsea in January, with Juventus set to bid for the Brazilian defender.

According to The Mirror, Juve are preparing to offer £15 million for Luiz next month, while the Italian giants are also keen on the 24-year-old's teammate Alex.

Luiz moved to Stamford Bridge last January from Benfica for a fee in the region of £24 million but, after a initially bright start to his Chelsea career, his defensive capabilities have been called into question.

The centre-back has looked particularly suspect for Chelsea this term, and has picked up seven yellow cards in 14 appearances under Andre Villas-Boas.

Luiz could well have been red carded against Newcastle last weekend, but escaped only with a booking after hauling Demba Ba down just outside the box.

However, it is not thought that Villas-Boas is considering selling Luiz, even if Juve do formalise their interest in the New Year.

Meanwhile, Alex is set to leave Chelsea after handing in a transfer request, and Turin is one of several potential destinations for the 29-year-old.
