Sevilla sporting director Ramon Rodriguez has hinted that his club could make a second approach for Tottenham forward Giovani dos Santos reports

The 22-year-old Mexican international has endured an unhappy time in English football since moving to north London from Barcelona in 2008.

Spurs boss Harry Redknapp has insisted that Dos Santos does have a future at White Hart Lane, but has been limited to Carling Cup and Europa League appearances this campaign.

Dos Santos' search for regular first-team football alerted Sevilla in the summer, but the La Liga outfit were unable to reach agreement with Tottenham over a transfer.

However, Sevilla are prepared to offer the tricky winger an escape route by renewing their interest in January - providing Spurs lower their valuation of Dos Santos.

"We believe Giovani wants to leave Tottenham and that could be decisive," said Rodriguez. "He was our first choice in the summer but Tottenham wanted too much money."
