Yakubu has urged his team-mates to kick on against Sunderland following Blackburn Rovers' 4-2 win over Swansea last weekend.
The Nigerian bagged all four goals for his team in that match, and in doing so became the first man to do that for Blackburn in over 25 years.
Since his cut-price move from Everton in the summer, the striker has impressed scoring nine league goals and thinks he can keep on finding the net on a regular basis.
He said: "I always believe I can score goals no matter what league I play in. But you have to give credit to the other players, without them I don't score goals.
"As a team we just have to continue to work hard and I believe that we will be fine."
The game against Sunderland is a crucial one as two sides very much in the relegation dog fight battle it out for the three points. The Yak is confident that Rovers can climb the table though and get out of the relegation zone, starting with the trip to the Stadium of Light.
"Hopefully the season starts now for us. We are ready for Sunderland now, we know it won't be easy, but if we keep playing like we did on Saturday we will be fine.
"The pressure is on the team to perform and if we keep fighting as a team we will be fine."
