Arsenal could be in for a tussle in their attempts to sign Peruvian wonderkind Andy Polo.
Arsene Wenger now faces the prospect of fighting off Serie A side Fiorentina for Polo's signature, according to Talksport.
The Emirates Stadium club have been tracking the Universitario de Deportes winger for some time.
Real Madrid were also reported to be interested in signing the exciting prospect, but this latest interest from Italy may force Wenger's hand.
Arsenal would be able to offer Polo a higher salary but Fiorentina are hoping the promise of guaranteed first team football will attract the starlet.
Reports out of Peru have suggested that Polo is willing to put first team opportunities ahead of wages.
Wenger will be hoping his reputation of developing promising youngsters in to top-class players will convince Polo to choose London as his destination.
Polo has spoken of his admiration for La Liga in the past and this was thought to be an indication that he would prefer a move to Real.
It appears that Arsenal and Fiorentina have moved to the front of the queue in the past week and could be set for a January bidding war.
