Manchester United defender Nemanja Vidic has been ruled out for the rest of the season after sustaining a cruciate knee ligament injury.

The United captain could be out for up to nine months - a huge setback for Sir Alex Ferguson who today expressed his disappointment at the news.

Kenny Dalglish has launched a scathing attack on the FA, criticising their treatment of both Liverpool and striker Luis Suarez as "a bit of a joke".

Dalglish questioned the FA's appeal of Wayne Rooney's UEFA ban ,and even showed a DVD of perceived injustices against Liverpool by match officials.
