Cech extension on the cards

Chelsea have opened informal talks with Petr Cech over extending the goalkeeper's contract, manager Andre Villas-Boas has confirmed.

Cech's current deal expires at the end of next season but the club are determined to ensure the 29-year-old completes at least a decade at Stamford Bridge.

Villas-Boas said: "There are false stories about Petr Cech leaving the club. We are trying to reach an agreement with Petr."
