Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas has revealed he wants Petr Cech’s contract to be extended at the club.
The Czech Republic international has 18 months remaining on his current deal at Stamford Bridge.
Talk have been rife that Cech’s may depart the club in the near future, with Thibaut Courtois, currently on loan at Athletico Madrid, waiting in the wings.
But Villas-Boas said: "There are false stories about Petr Cech leaving the club.
"We are trying to reach an agreement with Petr.
"He knows that we are trying to reach an agreement with him and that we are interested in renewing his contract.
On Courtois, the manger said: "Regarding Courtois, we have to make a decision.
"We won't recall him in January, for sure.
"At the end of the season, we have to decide."
