Arsenal are reportedly planning a move for Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema.
The 23-year-old French forward has netted 14 goals in 23 appearances this season, and has frequently been linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium in the past.
According to the Daily Mail, Benzema still tops the wishlist of Arsene Wenger, with the future of Arsenal captain Robin van Persie still uncertain.
It is further suggested that the Gunners may even consider a swap deal with Real, who have shown an interest in van Persie in the past.
The Arsenal No.10 has been in sensational form in 2011, and has scored a quite incredible 46 goals for club and country in the calendar year.
Van Persie, though, has still yet to commit his long-term future to the Gunners, and has round 18 months to run on his current Arsenal contract.
Wenger is desperate to keep hold of 28-year-old, but negotiations between the two parties have yet to commence.
The Holland international has, however, given encouraging signs that he intends to pen a new deal with the club he joined from Feyenoord in 2004.
