Italian club Juventus are readying a £18 million bid for Arsenal and Liverpool target Leandro Damiao.

Talksport are reporting that the Serie A giants have sent officials to Brazil to steal a march on the Gunners and Reds.

Arsene Wenger is thought to be a great admirer of Damiao, while Kenny Dalglish is looking for a solution to his team’s poor goal record.

Damiao’s agent has previously claimed contact out of Emirates Stadium and Wenger is looking to recruit a top quality striker to support Robin van Persie.

The Anfield management were also thought to be tracking the Brazil international, but it seems Juve have stolen a march on both English clubs.

The 22-year-old has been in fine form for his club Internacional, scoring 31 goals in 41 games in 2011.

Juventus manager Antonio Conte believes he can lure Damiao to Serie A before either Arsenal or Liverpool have made a concrete bid.

It is thought the Italian side are willing to offer £18million for the striker, but they are prepared to go higher should a bidding war begin.

Tottenham Hotspur were thought to have bid £12million for the striker in the summer, but the Brazilian club were unwilling to sell then.

It is being supposed that Internacional want to sell the player now while his stock is high, so as to get the best price for him.
