Jermain Defoe is eyeing breaking into the Tottenham Hotspur top 10 record goalscorers list after drawing level with Glenn Hoddle with his goal against Shamrock Rovers.
Despite the goal coming in vain as Spurs crashed out of the Europa League, Defoe had reason to celebrate, as he equalled the tally of 110 goals, accumulated by one of the club's greatest ever players.
As a player, Hoddle helped guide Spurs to the UEFA Cup and two FA Cups wins, while as manager he claimed the League Cup in 1999, and Defoe says it's a privilege to have drawn level with the club legend.
"Yeah especially someone like Glenn Hoddle, he's a legend in the game, played here managed the club so it's always nice and their's a lot more in me so it's good," he said.
The next target for the England international is to break into the club's top ten, a feat Defoe is confident of achieving.
"That's special, if you're in the top ten of all time then I'll do that definitely, if you keep working hard, getting into the positions I'll do it yeah."
