FC Koln striker Lukas Podolksi would be the perfect winter acquisition for Arsene Wenger, according to a poll conducted by GiveMeFootball.
When asked 'who would be your ideal January signing?' Arsenal supporters voted overwhelmingly in favour of Podolski, who has been frequently linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium in recent weeks.
Of the 15,000 votes cast, Podolski polled just over 50 percent, compared to the 27 percent won my his nearest challenger, Borussia Dortmund midfielder Mario Gotze.
Real Madrid hotshot Karim Benzema and Lille playmaker Eden Hazard also garnered some support - 11 percent and nine percent - while Borussia Monchengladbach's Marco Reus pulled in just two percent.
However, it would appear Gunners fans are unlikely to have their wish granted next month, with Wenger on Friday claiming he has no interest in signing Podolski.
It has been claimed that the Arsenal boss had been pursuing the 26-year-old with a view to a January deal as Wenger reportedly scours the market for back-up for Robin van Persie.
But, says Wenger, Arsenal are not planning a move for Podolski at this present time.
Podolski has been in fine form indeed this season, with the German netting 15 goals in 17 games for club and country.
