Tottenham hotspur will battle with Inter Milan for the signing of Paulo Henrique Ganso, according to talkSPORT.

The 22-year-old has recently been at the FIFA World Club Cup playing for Santos, loosing finalists in Japan.

But it's his performances in the domestic game that have caught the eye, alongside the much coveted Neymar.

Reports say that Harry Redknapp is keen to recruit the youngster, but that he faces a competition from Inter.

Manchester United were former suitors of Ganso, who has been reportedly close to signing a new contract for most of the year.

AC Milan were another club linked with the player, who has maintained his future would be decided in January.

Ganso said: "Now is the time to rest and take advantage of the holidays.

"2011 has been a good year for me with two titles but I will leave all the speculation until January. I will talk to the club, but I am calm at the moment."

The addition of Ganso to either United or Spurs would further strengthen their challenge for the Premier League title.

After loosing their first two games of the season, Tottenham have propelling themselves into contention, with just one defeat in their last 13 games.

Three successive wins has put United just two points behind Manchester City in the race for the title.
