Tottenham Hotspur are keeping tabs on Shrewsbury Town defender Connor Goldson, according to The Sun.
The 19-year-old versatile defender has come through the youth system at Greenhous Meadow, the same system that saw Joe Hart emerge from.
With captain Michael Dawson currently sidelined, Tottenham are set to look for more defensive options in January, with Gary Cahill another reported target.
Goldson signed professional terms with Shrewsbury in May 2010 and has made seven appearances this season, his debut coming against Spurs' Premier League rivals Swansea City in the Carling Cup.
If Tottenham were abel to snap up Goldson, he'd likely to be loaned out to gain some more valuable first-team experience.
Upon their moves from Sheffield United, Kyle Walker and Kyle Naughton have both had loan spells in the lower echelons of the Football League, with Naughton currently with Norwich City, following spells at Middlesbrough and Leicester City.
Walker spent time with Queens Park Rangers and Aston Villa last season, before breaking through at White Hart Lane this term, while another defensive youngster Steven Caulker's successful spells at Yeovil Town and Bristol City earned him a chance with Swansea City this season.
