Chelsea fans have voted Napoli hitman Edinson Cavani their top January transfer target in a poll conducted by GiveMeFootball.
8803 (46%) of those who voted on facebook selected the 24-year-old Uruguayan international as the man to bring to Stamford Bridge in 2012, despite the reported £50 million price tag placed on the player's head by his club.
Croatian international Luka Modric was a close second, gaining 39% (7406) of the total votes following Andre Villas-Boas' well publicised summer pursuit of the former Dinamo Zagreb starlet.
However, 'AVB' has since hinted that a move is unlikely to materialise, whilst Harry Redknapp is desperate to keep the 26-year-old after rejecting offers of up to £40 million in August.
Gary Cahill was a distant third in voting, with 845 fans (4%) nominating the England international centre back as the player Villas-Boas should be chasing hardest in the New Year.
Everton starlet Jack Rodwell came next in the voting (590), with the results coming on a day that reports in the English press claimed the Blues were looking to 'test the resolve' of the Toffees for a player dubbed a replacement for Frank Lampard in the Daily Mail.
Alvaro Pereira came last in the list of designated players, with just 306 (2%) of those who voted suggesting the versatile Porto full-back as the player to chase in January.
1020 voters were unconvinced by the top five targets, with 5% suggesting other players should be on the club's radar in a potentially crucial period of the season.
