Real Madrid midfielder Sami Khedira has rubbished talk of him joining a Premier League club in the January transfer window.

Reports had suggested that Manchester United were interested in bring him to England after a midfield injury crisis, which sees Anderson and Tom Cleverley on the sidelines, while Darren Fletcher is out with an illness.

United's interest had reportedly been heightened by Khedira's inability to settle in a Madrid midfield including Lassana Diarra and Xabi Alonso.

But Khedira said: "To me, nothing comes around. I stay at Real."

The news is a blow to United's hopes of adding to their depleted midfield, with Sir Alex Ferguson now likely to focus on other midfielder options.

The likes of Lucas Rodriguez and Jack Rodwell have both been linked with filling United's midfield.
