Arsenal and United alerted by Barca contract rebel

Published Add your comment

Arsenal and Manchester United have been reported by Isaac Cuenca's refusal to sign a new contract at Barcelona, according to Metro.

The 20-year-old has scored two goals in eight games for the Catalans, after recently breaking into the fold at the Nou Camp.

But with the Spaniard's contract due to run out next summer Barca are keen to secure a new deal for the winger.

However, the player's contract demands are proving to be a stumbling block, with Arsenal and United reportedly on alert.

With Gervinho off to the African Nations Cup, and Andrey Arshavin yet to rediscover his best form, Arsenal may be tempted to make a bid.

A potential move from United is less likely, given the plethora of wingers at their disposal, with Ashley Young, Antonio Valencia, Park Ji-Sung and Nani all in reserve.

Both Arsenal and United are expected to fight it out for Eden Hazard and Gary Cahill in the coming months.
