Bundesliga hotshot attracting Chelsea interest

Borussia Dortmund striker Lucas Barrios is reportedly attracting interest from Chelsea as the January transfer window approaches.

The Paraguay international has failed to find the net in 13 appearances this season, but scored 17 times last term as Dortmund lifted the Bundesliga title.

According to BILD, Dortmund are preparing to offload Barrios next month, and Stamford Bridge has been touted as a possible destination for the 27-year-old.

Chelsea are reported to be on the lookout for another striker in the New Year owing to the loss of Didier Drogba and Salomon Kalou to the Africa Cup of Nations.

The form of Fernando Torres is also a worry for Andre Villas-Boas and, if claims in Germany are to be believed, the Blues boss could add Barrios to his ranks.

Chelsea have also been linked with Napoli star Edinson Cavani, who continues to impress all and sundry in Serie A.

However, the 24-year-old Uruguayan says he has no intention of leaving Naples, and is looking forward to taking on Chelsea in the last 16 of the Champions League.
