Manchester United are reportedly leading Arsenal in the pursuit of Sheffield United goalkeeper George Long.
The 18-year-old has made four appearances for the Blades this season, and has been attracting plenty of interest from the Barclays Premier League.
According to The Sun, Sir Alex Ferguson is keen to bring the £3 million-rated shot-stopper to Old Trafford, while Arsene Wenger would like to add the youngster to his Arsenal ranks.
However, the United boss is currently in pole position to sign Long, with Arsenal and Aston Villa both hot on the heels of the Barclays Premier League champions.
Long is not the only youngster in the Football League to have caught the attention of United and Arsenal, with both clubs also said to be tracking Plymouth's Matt Lecointe.
The 17-year-old forward has made 18 appearances for the Pilgrims this season, and has been compared to Gunners starlet Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
Arsenal completed a £12 million deal for Oxlade-Chamberlain in the summer, beating the likes of United and Liverpool to the winger's signature.
