Manchester City defender Joleon Lescott has mapped out his side's route to claiming the Barclays Premier league title.
The England international has been instrumental in a City side that leads the reigning champions by two points going into the festive period.
The omens are good for City, with five of the last seven sides to be top at Christmas eventually going on to win the title.
“The main goal is to win every game, home and away, and match United’s results,” Lescott said.
“We are scoring a lot of goals and winning games and we have an air of confidence about us. But that is controlled – you don’t want it to be too arrogant.
“The main thing is to keep it going, keep progressing and keep our feet on the ground.”
Last season's third-place finish saw City concede the fewest goals across the league but a lack of goals occasionally hindered their chances of sustaining a challenge for the Premier League trophy
“Last season we got a lot of negative publicity because the goals weren’t flowing freely,” Lescott added.
“We were hard to break down but not scoring so many goals. This season we have a better balance.
“We have had the belief and confidence to score more goals and the strength and organisation to keep clean sheets.”
