Arsenal are reportedly considering launching a move for Lyon defender Aly Cissokho in order to ease their injury crisis.
The Lyon full-back has frequently been linked with a move to the Barclays Premier League, and has confirmed his desire to seal a switch to England.
"This week, I will speak with the Lyon staff," Cissokho told L'Equipe.
"I reckon I prefer England, but for now, there is nothing done."
According to Metro, Arsene Wenger is a long-term admirer of the 24-year-old Frenchman and had considered bringing him to Arsenal during the summer.
It is now claimed the Gunners boss may add Cissokho to his ranks this month, to bolster a defence without injured quartet Thomas Vermaeln, Bacary Sagna, Andre Santos and Carl Jenkinson.
Johan Djourou, who had been filling in at full-back, is now also unavailable for Wenger having been sent off during Arsenal's 2-1 defeat to Fulham on Monday.
