Chelsea target Zakaria Labyad is set to shun interest from the Barclays Premier League and seal a move to Sporting Lisbon reports talkSPORT.

The 18-year-old midfielder currently plies his trade for PSV Eindhoven in the Dutch Eredivisie, and has been compared in playing style to former teammate Ibrahim Affellay, now of Barcelona.

Blues boss Andre Villas-Boas was credited with an interest in the talented teenager as he looks to freshen up an ageing Stamford Bridge squad, starting with a number of additions in January.

However, according to sources in Portugal, Labyad is ready to turn his back on Chelsea, in favour of signing a five-and-a-half-year deal with Lisbon when his current contract expires in the summer.

Reports in Holland had suggested that the Blues were the frontrunners for the Moroccan starlet's signature, and had approached PSV about the possibility of signing him this transfer window.

But Villas-Boas now looks to have been pipped in the race to sign Labyad by the Portuguese heavyweights, ending any chance of a move to England.
