Liverpool have reportedly made a move to sign Jaguares striker Jackson Martinez.

The 25-year-old Colombian has scored five times in 10 games for his country, and is also being tracked by Portuguese champions Porto.

According to the Daily Mail, Liverpool have held talks with Jaguares over the proposed January signing of Martinez, and will have to part with £8.5 million to bring him to Anfield.

Kenny Dalglish is reported to be keen to bolster his attack during January with Liverpool struggling to find the net regularly in the league.

And, with star man Luis Suarez banned for a further five matches, the need for goalscoring reinforcements has taken on an ever greater importance.

Along with Martinez, Liverpool have also been linked with moves for his compatriot Hugo Rodallega, Aston Villa's Darren Bent and Brazilian youngster Leandro Damiao.
