Sir Clive Woodward has called for his former Southampton colleague Harry Redknapp to be appointed as England's next manager.
Woodward, who guided England to the Rugby World Cup title in 2003, was employed by the Saints as their technical support director in 2005 when Redknapp was manager.
The current Tottenham boss has long been linked with replacing Fabio Capello when the Italian vacates his role after Euro 2012, and Woodward believes Redknapp would be the ideal candidate. He told the Independent on Sunday: "He's an Englishman who's proved himself and from what I saw of him, he's ideally suited."
