City lodge Kompany appeal

Manchester City will learn on Tuesday if their appeal against captain Vincent Kompany's dismissal against Manchester United has been successful.

The Football Association this afternoon confirmed they had received City's appeal against Kompany's dismissal in Sunday's explosive FA Cup tie.

Kompany was shown a straight red card for a challenge on United's Nani after 12 minutes of a game City lost 3-2.
