Chelsea youngster heads north

SPL club Kilmarnock have snapped up 20-year-old Chelsea left back Ben Gordon on a loan deal today.

The move represents Gordon's second loan for Killie in as many seasons, with the youngster struggling to earn a substantial amount of game time with his parent club at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea signed the youngster in controversial circumstances from Leeds United back in 2007, where they were alleged of an illegal approach for the defender, as well as his former teammates Danny Rose and Michael Woods.

The move represents Gordon's fourth loan move out of west London in his career, after spending time with Npower Championship side Peterborough United earlier in the season.

The left back didn't manage a start at Posh, but appeared twice from the bench in August.

Now Gordon can get some real playing time north of the border, on a day when Kilmarnock also added Dean Shiels permanently to the squad.
