The agent of Napoli striker Ezequiel Lavezzi has denied the Manchester City target will be joining Inter Milan this month.
Lavezzi, 26, continues to be linked with a move away from the Stadio San Paolo, and the Sani Siro has been touted as a potential destination for the Argentine.
Manchester City have also been chasing Lavezzi, although Roberto Mancini's former side Inter appear to have edged ahead of the Barclays Premier League leaders.
Reports in Italy have claimed Inter are ready to complete a deal for Lavezzi during the transfer window, with suggestions are formal offer for his services had been made.
However, according to agent Alejandro Mazzoni, this is not - and will not be - the case in January.
He told Radio CRC: "It's fantasy football!
"This is an invention of journalists, because Inter have never contacted me and Napoli tell me that Inter have never asked Lavezzi."
"His contract expires in 2015. Speaking of an extension means speaking about the market and Lavezzi is not on the market."
