United and Liverpool to lose out on Lucas

Manchester United and Liverpool look set to miss out on the signing of Brazilian starlet Lucas.

The Sao Paulo wonder-kid now looks set to snub Sir Alex Ferguson and Kenny Dalglish for a move to Inter Milan, according to Talksport.

The 19-year-old is reportedly much sought after and Inter have sent officials to Brazil in a bid to ward off interest coming out of Old Trafford and Anfield.

The Italian club’s sporting director Marco Branca is the official that Gazzetta dello Sport say has boarded the plane to South America.

Both United and Liverpool have been credited as long-term admirers of Lucas and Sao Paulo are reportedly demanding a fee of around £20million.

Such a large fee has been quoted due to the Brazil international being considered one of the hottest prospects in his home nation.

The news being reported coming out of Italy would suggest Inter are seeking to make a decisive move in the race for Lucas’ signature.
