Young striker Marcello Trotta has confirmed he is to leave Wycombe Wanderers and return to parent club Fulham with immediate effect.

The 19-year-old Italian returns to SW6 having prospered in his loan spell at Adams Park, striking eight goals in as many games.

The news will come as a blow to Gary Waddock's men, with Trotta their second highest goalscorer in all competitions behind Stuart Beavon.

Waddock said: "Marcello was a model professional during his time with us and I'd like to thank him and Martin Jol for allowing him to spend the last two months here."

It remains to be seen whether Trotta can actually force himself into Fulham's first-team picture this season, after surprising everyone scoring six goals in his first four games at Wycombe.

Martin Jol needs to decide whether to include the striker in his Premier League squads or loan him again, maybe to an Npower Championship side next time round.

Wycombe on the other hand, may look for another striking loan replacement before February 1st, as they boosted their back line this week with the signature of Sunderland's Louis Laing.
