Chelsea could complete the signing of Genk winger Kevin De Bruyne before the close of the transfer window, according to reports in Belgium.
The 20-year-old has been linked with the Blues for some time, and has previously stated his desire to eventually move to west London.
And now, reports Het Belang Van Limburg, Genk chief-executive Dirk Degraen flew to London on Monday to begin discussions with Chelsea regarding the transfer of De Bruyne.
The Belgium international has scored three goals in 17 appearances for Genk this season and has impressed with a number of cultured displays in midfield.
Despite Genk's failings as a team in the Champions League, De Bruyne was able to showcase his talents on the European stage, and featured in the 5-0 defeat to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in October.
Should De Bruyne sign for the Blues, he will follow in the footsteps of compatriot Thibaud Courtois who left Genk for Chelsea in the summer, before being loaned to Atletico Madrid.
