Chelsea keen on Dutch defender deal

Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas remains keen on Dutch defender Gregory Van der Wiel, according to reports emerging in Spain.

The versatile Ajax full-back was on the Blues' radar in the summer, but after failing to secure the player's services in August, Spanish publication Superdeporte claimed Valencia had moved to the front of the queue to sign the 23-year-old last month.

However, talkSPORT are reporting that negotiations are far from concluded at the Mestalla Stadium, and that Chelsea are hoping to make a 'late move' for the former Dutch Young Player of the Year.

The same report claims a question mark remains over the future of Jose Bosingwa at Stamford Bridge, with the Portuguese defender linked with a move away from Chelsea. Paris Saint-Germain are one of the clubs to be linked with the 29-year-old.

With limited options at right-back, 'AVB' is keen to add another player in the position, according to the report, and the Holland international is a potential option for the former Porto boss in west London.
