Borussia Dortmund striker Lucas Barrios is being pursued by a number of Premier League clubs, according to Bild.

After making just three starts all season, the Paraguayan international has fallen out of favour with the German champions.

The likes of Arsenal and Manchester City have been mentioned as potential destinations for Barrios, who is said to be worth in the region of €10 million.

Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc said: "We do not comment on speculation."

Last week, teammate Mohamed Zidan said that either himself or Barrios would be leaving Dortmund in the winter window.

"I am now 30 and I want to be playing regularly and not be second or third choice much longer,'' Zidan said. "Dortmund will only release me if Barrios stays, though. It's either Lucas or me - only one of us can leave.''

With Robin Van Persie Arsenal's sole goal threat up front, the club are in desperate need of an additional forward to help keep pace with Chelsea in the race for the fourth Champions League spot.

Meanwhile, City may seek additional forwards, with Mario Balotelli's discipline an increasing problem and Edin Dzeko's form yet to pick up following his early season flurry of goals.
