Younes Kaboul is a doubt for Tottenham heading into this fourth round FA Cup tie, as he has a groin problem and sat out training on Wednesday.

Other doubts for Harry Redknapp’s side are winger Gareth Bale, who has a slight thigh problem, and Scott Parker with a tight hamstring – both pulled out of training in the week. Meanwhile, club captain Ledley King is expected to be rested for the tie.

Watford centre-half Adrian Mariappa is still expected to start for Sean Dyche’s side, despite speculation surrounding him with a move to Newcastle United in the week.

Marvin Sordell is also expected to start; the ten-goal striker is another who has been linked with a move away from Vicarage Road in the January transfer window.

Rafa eyes FA Cup glory

Tottenham Hotspur’s Dutch star Rafael van der Vaart has revealed his childhood love for the FA Cup and a desire to win it.

The former Real Madrid and Ajax man was speaking ahead of Spurs’ fourth round tie with Watford at Vicarage road tonight.

Van der Vaart also used the opportunity to state his desire to win a trophy of some sort with the White Hart Lane Club.

“It would be huge to get to the final," he told the official Tottenham Hotspur website.

“Everyone wants to win it, me too. When I was little I always watched the FA Cup Final. It would be a dream to play in it. My ambition is to win something with this club.

“Of course, it would be a dream to be the champions, but also the FA Cup. Every player needs titles, championships. I think it’s possible.”

Van der Vaart is expected to start the match, but could be among some different faces as Harry Redknapp looks to rest some of his top stars.

While not being an easy tie away from home, Spurs should have enough with a second string team to see off the Championship side.
