Redknapp favourite for England job

Published Add your comment

Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp is the overwhelming favourite to be the next England manager after Fabio Capello resigned yesterday.

The Italian stood down having decided his position was untenable in light of the FA decision to strip John Terry of the England captaincy.

Roy Hodgson and Alan Pardew are in contention to succeed Capello alongside Redknapp, who was yesterday cleared of tax evasion.

The FA is understood to be keen to appoint a new manager before February 26, when England are set the face Holland in a friendly.
