Agent: Manchester United want Gotze

The agent of highly-rated Borussia Dortmund midfielder Mario Gotze claims Manchester United have registered their interest in his client.

Gotze, 19, continues to enhance his reputation in Dortmund and is widely regarded as of the best young talents currently on display in European football.

Manchester United have been frequently linked with the young German in recent months, while Arsenal have also been credited with harbouring an interest to bring him to the Emirates Stadium.

Real Madrid and Barcelona have also been touted as potential destinations but, it would appear, United have made the first move for the teenager, along with Italian giants Juventus.

However, should either Sir Alex Ferguson or Antonio Conte formalise their interest in Gotze, they will have to spend at least €40 million to prise him from the clutches of Dortmund.

"I think in Europe all the top clubs are interested in Mario," Gotze's agent Dirk Hebel told

"I can confirm that I have had contact with Juventus and Manchester United, but not only them.

"I don't know if he'll go away after this season, you should ask Borussia. But I think that they will not let him leave for less than 40million euros.

"He still is very happy at Dortmund, though now he is injured."

Gotze already has 12 senior caps for Germany and is expected to feature prominently at the European Championships in Poland and Ukraine this summer.
