Chelsea are once again considering a move for Russian international goalkeeper Igor Akinfeev, according to reports.
The Daily Mail claims that Blues boss Andre Villas-Boas has targeted the 25-year-old as a possible replacement for Petr Cech, with doubts beginning to surface over the Czech Republic international's role between the sticks at Stamford Bridge.
It's not the first time Chelsea scouts have shown an interest in the CSKA Moscow stopper either, with the player emerging on the radar in west London 18 months ago amidst concerns over Cech's fitness following a second head injury.
However, the Blues appeared to move in a different direction this summer, bringing young Belgian starlet Thibaut Courtois to the club from Anderlecht. He's since been loaned to Atletico Madrid, and is gaining valuable first-team experience in La Liga.
However, the former Manchester United target is seen as a more immediate solution to the possible problem on the King's Road, according to the report, with a potential summer move being mooted.
