Stoke cruise into last eight

Published Add your comment

Crawley were unable to provide an FA Cup upset as 10-man Stoke secured progression to the quarter-finals with a 2-0 victory.

The Barclays Premier League outfit were on the backfoot for most of the opening 45 minutes and their League Two opponents came close when Peter Crouch hit his own crossbar.

Stoke's task got harder when they had Rory Delap sent off for a challenge on David Hunt after 17 minutes, but Jon Walters netted a penalty as half-time approached before Crouch added a second seven minutes after the restart to seal the win.
