England caretaker manager Stuart Pearce has rejected the chance to make wholesale changes, with striker Fraizer Campbell the biggest surprise in his 25-man squad for the clash against Holland.
Robert Green is rewarded for his good form at West Ham United in the Championship, and is recalled to the squad as an understudy to Joe Hart.
Micah Richards also makes a return to the Three Lions fold, having missed out on a regular basis under Fabio Capello. Manchester United veteran Rio Ferdinand is not included in the side for Wednesday night’s clash.
Tom Cleverley joins the midfield regulars, with Steven Gerrard also back in the fold having returned from injury at Liverpool. He last played for his country in November 2010.
Frank Lampard misses out, as does rising Arsenal starlet Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. The Southampton academy graduate is instead included in the England U21 squad, whilst teammate Theo Walcott does get the senior nod.
And Campbell is the only player to get his first call-up, with the Sunderland hitman joining Darren Bent and Wayne Rooney, as well as youngsters Danny Welbeck and Daniel Sturridge, in the attacking position.
