Juventus are ready to test Liverpool’s mettle with a £30million bid for striker Luis Suarez.

A report in The Daily Star has claimed that the Serie A side have singled out Suarez as the man to lead their Champions League campaign next year and will try to lure him away from Anfield.

Reds boss Kenny Dalglish would be loath to let the Uruguayan leave Merseyside after the amount of fire he came under for protecting the striker in the Patrice Evra affair.

The Bianconeri are currently sitting second in Serie A, which is a return to former glory after they were relegated down a league following the Calciopoli scandal over match-fixing and bribery.

They are expected to maintain their good form under former midfielder Antonio Conte and qualify for next year’s Champions League.

The report also claims that Liverpool owner John W Henry would not be averse to selling Suarez after the damage his actions during the Evra scandal caused the club’s image – it even brought about a warning from club sponsors.

If the £30million fee is accurate, it could be a tempting for the Anfield owners as it would mean a profit of just under £10million in little over a year.
