Arsenal will make a summer bid for highly rated Malaga midfielder Isco, according to the Daily Star.

The 19-year-old Spaniard has been identified by Gunners boss Arsene Wenger as a star of the future, who is keen to bring him to the Emirates Stadium at the end of the season.

Much has been said about Arsenal's plight following disappointing results in the Champions League and FA Cup, which has all but condemned them to a seventh consecutive season without a trophy.

Wenger is under pressure to rebuild in north London, and sell a number of the club's under-performing stars who have failed to live up to their expectation.

Arsenal owner Stan Kroenke is rumoured to have made funds of up to £100million available to the traditionally frugal Frenchman when the transfer window reopens in June.

Isco is valued at around £5million and so will not command much of the club's transfer budget, but with Arsenal heavily linked with big-money moves for German duo Mario Gotze and Lukas Podolski, it could well be a busy summer.
