Nani: I'm not at my best

Published Add your comment

Manchester United winger Luis Nani admits he is still struggling for consistency after returning to action after a month on the sidelines.

Nani was injured during United's defeat of Arsenal in late January, and did not feature again until last week's 2-0 win over Ajax in the Europa League.

The 25-year-old was afforded another valuable 90 minutes against the Dutch giants on Thursday evening, but was unable to prevent his side falling to a 2-1 defeat.

United did, of course, still progress to the last 16 of the competition despite the loss at Old Trafford and Nani was one of several players who failed to impress.

However, the Portugal international says he is still feeling the affects of his injury, but hopes to recover as quickly as possible.

"It has been difficult to get the consistency," Nani told MUTV.

"I am getting there but I need more minutes. I will work hard to come back because we need every player.

"Just now I am not at my best but I will try to recover my form as quickly as possible."

Nani is likely to feature for Manchester United this weekend as they travel to Carrow Road to face Paul Lambert's Norwich City.

Three points for United will be enough to see them reclaim top sport in the Premier League, although only if Manchester City lose to Blackburn on Saturday evening.
