Chelsea have been told that forward target Ezequiel Lavezzi is not for sale this summer.
The 26-year-old Argentine international, who struck twice in Napoli’s 3-1 win over the Blues in the first leg of their Champions League last 16 clash last week, has long been linked with a move to west London in the past.
Andre Villas-Boas has also been credited with an interest in teammate Edinson Cavani, but speaking specifically about Lavezzi, Azzurri president Aurelio De Laurentiis insisted that his player was not available for transfer away from the Stadio San Paolo in the summer.
"The message is clear. He is not for sale. There will be no negotiations with any club," Laurentiis told Il Mattino.
A product of the Boca Juniors youth system, Lavezzi made his name at San Lorenzo before moving to Serie ‘A’ in 2007. He has been a huge hit at Napoli since the move.
And the club are not willing to part with one of their three dynamic forwards as they continue to challenge both domestically and in Europe, meaning ‘AVB’ will have to look elsewhere in the summer transfer window if he wishes to strengthen the squad at Stamford Bridge.
