Germany general manager Olive Bierhoff believes it would be a great to see Lukas Podolski join Arsenal.
The 26-year-old has been heavily linked with a move to the Gunners, following reports he has agreed a deal to move to the Premier League.
And Bierhoff, a former German international, says a switch to Arsenal would be an excellent move for Podolski.
"Lukas' heart belongs to the city of Cologne, but he is reaching an age right now that leads him to think about the future of his career," Bierhoff told Express.
"It would be a great move joining Arsenal for [Podolski]. Arsene Wenger is an exceptional manager [who] could make Lukas a stronger and better player."
Podolski would be a worthwhile addition for Arsenal, with top scorer Robin van Persie yet to pen a new contract at the club, his contract set to expire in the summer of 2013.
Having scored 43 goals in 95 games for Germany, Podolski would bring a wealth of experience with him to Arsenal, who have often been hesitant in buying established players, instead opting to sign players for the future.
His form this season as been just as encouraging, having netted 15 goals in 19 games for Cologne.
