Fulham manager Martin Jol indicated talks to extend Pavel Pogrebnyak's stay in west London are under way after watching the Russian forward fire a hat-trick.

Pogrebnyak continued his superb start to life in the Barclays Premier League with a treble in the 5-0 thrashing of struggling Wolves at Craven Cottage. He was drafted in on January transfer deadline day to fill the void left by Bobby Zamora's move to QPR, but few could have predicted the on-loan striker's impact.

The 28-year-old has now netted five goals in three appearances and Jol said: "He is a very good lad. The first training session he gave us a feeling that he wanted to be here, that he wanted to prove a point."
