Brazil international Dede says he is flattered by comparisons to Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand, but insists the Premier League champions have not made a formal approach for his services.
The 23-year-old Vasco da Gama centre-back appears to be attracting plenty of interest and, along with United, has also been linked with Portuguese giants Benfica and Serie A outfit Juventus.
According to the Daily Mail, such is Sir Alex Ferguson's interest in Dede, he has asked former charge Jaap Staam to compile a report on the Brazilian youngster.
Dede has also seen his talents compared to those of United star Ferdinand at a similar age - quite an accolade indeed for the Vasco ace.
But, while he is flattered to be mentioned in the same bracket as Ferdinand, Dede is fully focused on the job with Vasco, and is unaware of any bids from Manchester United.
"No offer has come yet," he told Brazilian publication Globo Esporte.
"I am glad to be compared to a great defender like Ferdinand, but I am only focused on Vasco.
"I was at the national team when a reporter asked me if I will join Juventus.
"I said I like them as they are a big European team, but at this point I am focused only on Vasco.
"If I leave, it will be in a more distant future. Rumours do not affect me."
