Arsenal (0) v AC Milan (4)

UEFA Champions League

Emirates Stadium

Tuesday, March 6. Kick-off: 1945

Arsene Wenger will give late fitness tests to Yossi Benayoun and Tomas Rosicky, with the former struggling with a virus and the latter a groin complaint.

Kieran Gibbs is also a doubt for Arsenal, while Abou Diaby and Mikel Arteta are both missing after sustaining respective injuries in the weekend defeat of Liverpool.

For AC Milan, Massimiliano Allegri has doubts over the fitness of midfielders Kevin-Prince Boateng and Clarence Seedorf.

Wenger: We can do it

Arsenal meet AC Milan at the Emirates Stadium this evening faced with the improbable task of overturning a four-goal deficit in order to progress to the last eight of the Champions League.

The Gunners were clinically dismantled by Milan in the San Siro last month, with Massimiliano Allegri's side triumphing 4-0 to seemingly put paid to the European ambitions of the north London side.

Progression for Milan is surely an inevitability, but will face an Arsenal side buoyant after a run of good form domestically.

And, although Wenger realises the difficulty of the task ahead, he believes his players have the ability to secure one of the most sensational results in the club's history.

“I have a gut feeling the players can do it,” Wenger told

“My job, until 7.45pm on Tuesday night, is to convince them that they can.

“I don’t live in a dream world,” he went on. “I know we have not created an easy situation. We have a five per cent chance - because if you look at the history of results that have been changed at that level, it would be around that.

“But what is important is that we believe that we can be in this five per cent. That’s what is at stake for us – to show that we have the quality to believe we can do it. Even if it is only five per cent.

“Let’s make sure that we don’t miss our chance because we did not believe in it.”
