Johnson to keep captaincy - Connor

Published Add your comment

Wolves manager Terry Connor has confirmed defender Roger Johnson will retain the captaincy after being fined for a breach of discipline.

The former Birmingham player will also be in contention for Saturday's vital Barclays Premier League relegation clash with Blackburn at Molineux.

Johnson found himself in trouble with Connor, who claimed the player was "unfit to train properly" on Monday morning, the day after a 5-0 defeat at Fulham when he was one of the substitutes. Connor said: "Roger reported for work not fit to train properly. I would be disappointed with any player in that situation. I said to him what he did was unacceptable."
